I Make Figurative Sculptures From Vinyl Records

Having trained as a fine art sculptor, I make my figures from 7″ and 12″ vinyl music records, combining them with modern materials such as perspex and acrylic.

Mainly receiving donations of unwanted record collections, I try to emote the feelings and actions of the owners who once enjoyed the records – dancing, reclining, revelling in the music.

With the rise of vinyl record sales, a percentage of them do so for nostalgia and the collection of memories. My practice removes the records from their sleeves and allows them to be appreciated upon the walls and shelves of their owners (…hey, not everyone owns a record player – including me!).
